"Build Your Dream Network: Forging Powerful Relationships in a Hyper-Connected World by J. Kelly Hoey.

Here is a value-added book regarding networking I found very interesting and insightful. The book is, “Build Your Dream Network: Forging Powerful Relationships in a Hyper-Connected World by J. Kelly Hoey.

The author starts by highlighting "skills alone won't make you a success". This is because everyone calls themselves an expert; college degrees can be bypassed, anybody can start a business in any location; and, the concept of working in a meritocracy is a fable.

What makes you special are people who KNOW what you bring to the table in terms of knowledge and experience; that you do what you do at a superlative level; that you offer distinct insights.  The bottom line is you need an audience, and that audience is your network- it’s about credibility and reducing the employer’s/investor’s risk.

Hoey provides some tactical and strategic approaches toward getting people to KNOW what you bring to the table.

Frankly much of what she offers in the book is familiar to most of us, but there is a unique insightful 10% really worth pondering and putting into action.

You can find the book on Amazon http://amzn.to/2iSn1HB

Cheers

Recommended Christmas gift - The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene Despite living in a tech driven world, the core of our society remains in the human domain. A domain often competing between being driven by reason, or by emotion. Greene addresses this competition occurring in the human condition and how the condition shapes our lives as a victor, or victim… as a leader or follower… as a person living in poverty or wealth. The book can be used as a tool for self reflection, regeneration and self development. You can find the book, in various formats here, or at your local library. #lawsofhumannature #selfdevelopment #competition #wealthgeneration https://amzn.to/3ZW8WM3
